This superior political thriller is also a last hurrah for the power of the printed press in the age of the Internet. Reminiscent of All the President’s Men, this movie trumpets newspaper journalists as seekers after truth in a corrupt and corrupting world.

The story and plot are character-driven and revolve around variety of conflicts-of-interest. Loyalty to friends versus loyalty to truth. Journalistic impartiality versus being paid by those one cannot report on. Sexual fidelity versus sexual fulfillment.
