Sensual and erotic hardcore pornography that manages to effectively showcase the sexual aura of its star Barbara BOURBON (the eponymous Pamela Mann) while throwing in a lot of good-natured humor about the nature of thwarted sexual desire in sex-repressive Caucasian cultures.
BOURBON looks quite ordinary for a porn star, yet she loves (& is loved by) the penis and the vagina with equal glee, as she accurately reflects the polymorphously-perverse nature of the character she plays - unlike most Whites. There is little sense here of going-through-the-motions since the sexual activity seems spontaneous and as enjoyable to watch as it must have been to perform.
In essence, an effective critique of White sexual hypocrisy that implies the reason pornography exists in White culture in the first place: Frustrated sexual curiosity. In such a culture, sexual love can only ever really be expressed through a sexuality that continually seeks new experiences with new sexual partners as a means of avoiding the inevitable boredom of a monogamy without that love.
Unusually for the genre, this is an exploration of human sexual-lust rather than a mere exploitation of it.

Male Idolatry
This censored United Kingdom DVD version of the film is neither letter-boxed nor panned & scanned so some scenes are rendered as meaningless as a cropped-off Web-page printed in Portrait mode.
Still Monique GABRIELLE (as the eponymous heroine) is very fetching - in and out of clothes - but no actress. Director Walerian Borowczyk’s trademark sexual fetishism is well in evidence; including some Russ Meyer-style sexual analogies like spurting champagne bottles.
As a paean to feminine sexual-freedom this fails - as all the Emmanuelle films do - because they are made by men - for men - and so tell us everything about male sexuality, but nothing much about women’s. This, despite the fact that pornography is the genre most often associated with female sexual-freedom as a theme!
The attempted critique of the cult of vacuous celebrity is limp and superficial since it relies on clichés rather than insight. Moreover, attacking those with empty, anti-porn minds - who are not the audience for this particular genre - is peculiarly reductive since it suggests the filmmakers are insecure about the nature of their own work. After all, the makers of romantic comedies, for example, never feel the need to justify their work by attacking its detractors, regardless of quality, because theirs is not a despised genre.
Rubbish - and not much fun.

Disappointing fuck film from the usually reliable Brad Armstrong; featuring a portmanteau of loosely-connected sex scenes that basically go nowhere. The whole is well-filmed and stylish but there is no real plot and no characters too speak of. Apart from the very welcome presence of Trina MICHAELS and Carmen HART, few girls here will make you stand to attention because we are presented with overly-elaborate set-pieces with no real oomph.

Coming Home

Coming Home is recommended for those who like sensitive, intelligent pornography with a good story and high production values.
Thoughtful and emotionally-mature porn movie about the affects on the love lives of its characters caused by war and the separation it inevitably causes.
There are some good performances here – especially from Kirsten PRICE - and some prick-stiffening sex – especially from Shyla STYLEZ (who possesses a body made solely for the purpose of hours of long, hard pussy-pumping, and big, round firm titties to match). It is hardly surprising, therefore, that she uses her obvious physical charms to stiffen a great many cocks – as she does here.
For pornography aimed at heterosexual men, the sex is quite sensual, erotic and loving since it not only has to get the dick hard, it also has to play a role in telling the story. This makes it more coherent than usual in sex films and more justified by context. The banging does not just happen at the drop of a hat while still providing copious cum shots one has come to expect from blue movies - although the sex scenes are still too long and a little repetitious.
Director Brad ARMSTRONG has created a well-plotted, coherently-believable drama with a good script and clearly-differentiated characters. Taken together, these aspects make this above average for the genre, and made me have my own private cumshot afterwards, I got so hot.
