Story of Mankind
(1921, 1999)

Despite the usual White supremacist implication that Western civilization is all of Mankind, this is a superlative history book for children that is about as objectively-written as it is possible for such a book to be. An excellent primer for the enquiring mind that offers a broad overview of world history that yet does not focus too obsessively on Western history - as these things often tend to do.

Informed by a genuine desire to understand where one came from, it would have satisfied this in the eager young minds it was intended for as well as developing a taste for further enquiry. The only pity is that it was never updated for a post Second World-War audience and has thus lost some of its contemporary relevance.

Führerprinzip:



One leader, one people, signifies one master and millions of slaves… There is no organ of conciliation or mediation interposed between the leader and the people, nothing in fact but the apparatus - in other words, the party - which is the emanation of the leader and the tool of his will to oppress.
