Whites Destroy the World
Whites initiate an Earth-destroying World War 3 and await the inevitable end of Western civilization.
No explanations are offered for the White propensity for violence and we are left to surmise that a superficial culture cannot provide itself with enough reason for its continued existence and so must fulfill its unavoidable death wish - as all purposeless people must.
The performances are a little below standard for such an impressive cast although the script’s attempts at deft characterization are deft enough to make us care for the characters’ plight. But it lacks the sublime brilliance of The War Game as a vivid depiction of thermonuclear holocaust.
A little miracle on a small budget makes this grim and engaging, but hardly illuminating.
