Classic example of excellent performers doing their thing in mediocre material. Nevertheless, this is good fun with its heart in the right place despite the thin characterization but this cannot work because the two characters are not different enough to make enough on-screen sparks fly as in Midnight Run. Reminiscent of The Blues Brothers only with less music this could profitably have been made into a full-fledged musical-comedy. The theme of Whites appropriating Black culture to appear "cool" and "sophisticated".
