Weak version of Modern Times because it lacks a connecting theme of sufficient interest. Instead, we have here a series of disconnected slapstick that is amusing enough but does not make for classic comedy. Director Woody ALLEN instead opts not for real science-fiction or a parody of the future but for a characterless parody of science-fiction films – especially 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Diane KEATON is really enjoying herself and it is always good to see a fine actress let her hair down enough to act as the straight man to Woody ALLEN's neurotic Jewish male catapulted into the future by a medical mistake.
