Eiger Sanction
(1975)

Fun spy-thriller that focuses more on laughs than thrills. Clint EASTWOOD is in fine form as the movie hero the girls can never resist – and he does his own stunts. Nevertheless, the plot is simply ridiculous and the themes appear nonsensical because they are unexplored.

Where this film really scores is in its casting: Jack CASSIDY, George KENNEDY, Vonetta McGEE & Brenda VENUS. All play their roles with tremendous, tongue-in-cheek aplomb and they obviously had a good time filming this hokum. They help compensate for the lack of characterization in this disposable equivalent to the more serious North Face.
