Lorna Doone
(1990)

RATING:60%
FORMAT:DVD

Romantic potboiler of redemption-through-love that throws in a good dollop of revenge for good measure.

The themes raised are largely unexplored and the performances uneven but this is all good clean fun and, as one would expect of a story set in the 17th-century, the girls are feisty in following their hearts and the leading men in need of proper haircuts.

Not exactly Barry Lyndon but an agreeable time-filler.
