An unusual mixture of Le Corbeau and the Midwich Cuckoos that foregrounds the malice, envy, apathy and brutality of small-town White cultures.

A single, stupid outpouring of vindictive anger initiates a strange series of events that reveal the true nature of this allegedly and ostensibly Christian community.

A little unfocused and meandering this film demonstrates how Christian fundamentalism does not lead to the goodness claimed from an obsession with self-control over self-discipline. It leads instead to pretense and projecting and displacing one’s own badness onto other - especially one’s children.
