Pointe-Courte
(1954)

RATING:60%
FORMAT:DVD

Technically-proficient neophyte work that focuses on an on-the-rocks love affair; while offering little in the way of insights into the nature and practices of sexual love. Instead, there is much miserabilist discussion on the difference between rural folk and townies - with the former accorded much more respect by the script. Too much talking about being grown-up and not nearly enough growing up makes the characters dull and shallow, and this a more useful watch as a documentary for a rural way-of-life than as a work of fiction.
